By incorporating pedestrian and bike paths into its transportation strategy, Istanbul can build a physical and social infrastructure that optimizes the participation of all people, regardless of physical and mental disabilities.
Istanbul then would be not simply Europe’s largest and fastest growing city. It would be its model.

New Course for 30th Istanbul Eurasia Marathon


The anticipated course for the 26 October marathon will start, as usual, on the Asian side and cross the Atatürk Bosphorus Bridge before heading down to the Dolmabahçe Palace on the European side. After heading up the Golden Horn as far as Eyüp, the course will pass under the Aqueduct of Valens as it crosses over to the Marmara Sea. The race will end at the Hippodrome, one of the oldest race venues in the world, in front of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia in Istanbul’s Sultanahmet District.
